SUMMARY:Ayres/Knuth Farmstead
DESCRIPTION:Morris County Historical Society is pleased to partner with local historians and history organizations to present a Morris County Walking Tour Series that celebrates the area’s rich and diverse past. From April through October, join us for nearly 40 guided walking tours that explore almost two dozen communities throughout Morris County, with topics ranging from unique historic districts, downtowns, and neighborhoods to local industries that shaped the landscape, and the individuals who left a lasting impact.\nDiscover the fascinating history of Morris County’s oldest continuously operating farm with a walking tour of Ayres/Knuth Farm. A unique example of a complete farmstead and the agrarian history of the area, the farm contains ten original structures that demonstrate its evolution over the centuries through various owners, most notably the Ayres and Knuth families. Tours will take place at 2:00pm and 7:00pm (lanterns available for purchase). Participants are advised to wear sturdy shoes.\n
