King Store & Homestead and Silas Riggs House

Morris County Historical Society is pleased to partner with local historians and history organizations to present a Morris County Walking Tour Series that celebrates the area’s rich and diverse past. From April through October, join us for nearly 40 guided walking tours that explore almost two dozen communities throughout Morris County, with topics ranging from unique historic districts, downtowns, and neighborhoods to local industries that shaped the landscape, and the individuals who left a lasting impact.

Step back in time with a tour highlighting some of Roxbury’s earliest industries and residents. Learn more about the locally prominent Riggs and King families with a visit to their respective homesteads and see one of the best-preserved mercantile establishments that operated for over 100 years in the King Store. Participants are asked to meet in front of the King Homestead, 209 Main Street, Ledgewood.
